stage 4 breast cancer

I just found out that my aunt has moved up to stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to her liver, lymnode, leg, neck etc. I don’t know much about cancer and all I really want to know is what is the survival rate when you’ve reached stage 4? The doctors plan on Chemo therapy.

stage 4 breast cancer

I’m a Stage-4 Breast Cancer Patient; currently under Hospice Care. I love the Internet, as it provides me my much needed Lifeline to the rest of the world; thereby helping me to get far away from cancer pain, etc.
I finally had the energy to come back here today–Monday, Oct. 9th–to see if anyone had even read my question.

Each One of You took the time to answer–with so much heartfelt Honesty, Love, & Support.

I’m overwhelmed by Your show of Support & Your Honesty about Your own cancer journeys–be it You who is also a patient– &/or a precious Family Member.

Thank You All for taking the time to come to my little question, & leave such BIG Encouragement, Site referrals, & Good Wishes.
God Bless each & every One of You, & Your own Loved Ones.

I want You All to know that I’m well on my way now, with finding Safe & ‘Real’ Support Groups.
Thank You!!!
With my own Heartfelt
Gratitude & Love~ Trusoul

ps- It’s impossible to pick the ‘best’ answer, as each of You helped me, & each in Your own way.
Please know that I’m here for All of You, too. ~Trusoul :+)

stage 4 breast cancer

I have a friend who is still getting chemo therapy at (allegedly) stage 4 of breast cancer. She says that it has (allegedly) spread to her bones but not any vital organs but she still works. Does this sound like stage 4? Can you still get Chemotherapy in Stage 4 breast cancer?
i hate to sound doubtful but at times she can make things seem a lot more than it is…i have learned that in our relationship

stage 4 breast cancer

My aunt has been diagnosed with stage 4 aggressive breast cancer just recently. Her legs even broke because it metastisized to her bone. It’s in her organs too, like her liver. The doctors say she only has 6 months to live at the most. Is it possible that she could live longer? Is there anything I can do? I don’t want her to die and I’m really scared for her. :[

stage 4 breast cancer

A 48 year old woman, diagnosed on 12/4/08 with stage 4 breast cancer (mets to brain, lungs, liver and spine) suffered a stroke on 1/30/09, during a chemotherapy treatment. The stroke left her paralyzed on her left side, with limited mobility in her hand/arm/shoulder. She can’t walk, and she has “mental mis-fires.”

Her family (particularly her mother) is in denial about the grimness of her condition. Her husband (they’re somewhat estranged, but he is “doing the right thing”) wants to put her in a rehab/hospice setting, because she can’t climb stairs. (They live in an old rowhouse. . .no bathroom on the main floor.) Her mother, on the other hand, has come up with this crazy idea to rent an apartment and care for her there. ?????

Does anyone have any experience with a situation like this? What is this woman’s realistic survival rate? Would hospice be the appropriate move at this point?
Her survival was said to be about 2 months, which it has already been. X-rays of lungs show that they are completely covered with cancer cells. The doctor has suggested hospice/rehab.
. . .but her mother doesn’t want that.
Prairie Girl. . .I told them the very same thing, but was treated like I was nuts. My dad had a stroke, but survived 10 years afterwards. He was a total invalid. My mother insisted on caring for him at home. That lasted about two years, and took a huge toll on ALL of us, as we were required to chip in with his care. My brother (49) died of lung cancer that had metastasized to his brain, liver and bones. My sister just last year died of kidney failure at age 60. All three were in hospice at the end of there lives, as it was extremely difficult–physically, as well as emotionally–to care for them at home.

Unfortunately, her mother does not respect anyone’s opinion except her own. Thought “maybe it’s me” for a minute.
. . .and very sorry to hear about your Dad.

stage 4 breast cancer

i’ve lived with him b4 but we had to move back home. his stepdad said he wants him out in 2 months, but we found a place today that is leasing soon and know for sure we can get it. i dont have a vehicle yet, i’m a full time student and i work, and my bf works full time. he needs me to help him, and honestly–he has done everything to help me before. my relationship with my dad has always been horrible, he used to be abusive and ever since i moved back home its…”i want you the f*** out by the end of the year, i hate you, ur a slut, ur a b***h..” and its bad guys, its bad. my mom has stage 4 breast cancer and she gets so upset and she yells and screams all the time!

how am i supposed to tell her that i’m going to move out w/o her flipping on me…i know she’ll cry, but i’m afraid she’ll flip out in a negative way b/c she’s done that a lot before and take things away from me.

what should i do?!

stage 4 breast cancer

I don’t know her well and a mutual friend told me she has stage 4 breast cancer. I want to talk to her or do something to help, but I’m not sure what to do or say. She didn’t tell me herself (but I haven’t seen her much either) so I don’t want to butt in or make her uncomfortable. Any advice?
